CrossCreekQuincy ribbon 430wNeighborhood Renaissance, Inc., a statewide nonprofit affordable housing developer dedicated to strengthening local economies and fostering thriving communities, celebrated the completion of its newest affordable housing community, Cross Creek Gardens at Quincy, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 18, 2026.

The development was made possible with $1.8 million in financing from Florida Community Loan Fund and additional public and private funds from Florida Housing Finance Corporation, Raymond James, JPMorgan Chase, Escambia County Housing Finance Authority, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, with support from the City of Quincy, totaling $16.3 million.

Like many rural communities across Florida, Quincy is experiencing growing housing demand and a shortage of affordable rental options for working families and seniors. Developments such as Cross Creek Gardens are critical to meeting workforce housing needs while supporting the city’s continued economic growth.

Cross Creek Gardens emerged from a collaborative economic development initiative designed to create attainable housing near Quincy’s expanding commercial corridor and industrial park. At the time the development was conceived, Gadsden County had only approximately 200 rental units available countywide, and those units maintained consistently high occupancy rates.

Cross Creek Gardens features 36 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes affordable to households earning between 50% and 60% of the area median income ($84,700). Each apartment includes modern finishes, energy-efficient appliances, and a private patio or balcony. Community amenities include a clubhouse, computer lab, training room, community kitchen, outdoor patio, fenced tot lot, and picnic area. Monthly rents start at approximately $800, providing a much-needed housing option for local working families.

In addition to quality housing, Neighborhood Renaissance offers supportive resident services designed to promote long-term stability and economic opportunity. These services include financial management coaching, employment assistance, and transportation to nearby healthcare providers.
