duPont Center Opens in Jacksonville

Florida Community Loan Fund provided $10 million in NMTC for the project

duPont Exterior 2 300x450The Jessie Ball duPont Center in Jacksonville held its grand opening on June 25, 2015. The organization renovated an historic library building in downtown Jacksonville.

The new 123,000-square foot center will offer area nonprofits space affordable rents, structured just to cover operating costs. “Hot Desks” are available for rent by the day, week, or month; and multiple conference rooms and classrooms are also available for nonprofit and community use.

The building was renovated using the New Markets Tax Credit program. In addition to providing affordable and collaborate space for nonprofits, the project created 186 construction jobs and is expected to create or retain 200 permanent jobs. The re-opening of this downtown building will be a catalyst for downtown reinvestment in the city core, which has been stagnant in recent years.
