FCLF Director of Government Relations Joy Beaton will be a part of a panel at the Florida Philanthropic Network Summit, which will take place in Orlando on January 30 & 31. More information on the Summit can be found on their website, which notes that the event is a time "when people involved in Florida philanthropy gather together in once place to share what we're learning; discuss key issues for Florida's health, vitality and well-being; and hear from key state and national thought leaders. We'll explore game-changing trends for Florida and how philanthropy needs to respond to ensure the best possible outcomes for our communities."
On Friday, January 31st, a session will be presented titled "Housing for All Floridians." Presenters will be Joy Beaton of the Florida Community Loan Fund; Mark Constantine, Senior Vice President, Jessie Ball duPont Fund; Debra Koehler, President, Sage Partners, LLC; Shannon Nazworth, Executive Director, Ability Housing of Northeast Florida; Diana Stanley, Chief Executive Officer, The Lord's Place; The Moderator will be Bobbie Ibarra, Executive Director, Miami Coalition for the Homeless. The topics to be discussed at this session include Florida's lack of affordable housing, the problems of homelessness and a growth in populations at risk of homelessness, how to best tackle these issues in Florida and what role philanthropy can play.
