New multifamily community will offer housing and services to formerly homeless residents.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place in June on Warley Park Apartments in Sanford, Florida. Developed by Wendover Housing Partners with on-site services provided by Step Up on Second, Warley Park will offer 81 affordable rental apartments to area residents, focusing on formerly homeless families and individuals, with a priority on the chronically homeless.
The 4.5 acre parcel of land had been deemed a nuisance by the City of Sanford. Florida Community Loan Fund has provided financing for Warley Park, along with Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) from Florida Housing Finance Corporation and other sources.
The groundbreaking which was held on June 13 kicked off construction, which is expected to be completed in early 2020. Warley Park will be the first permanent supportive housing community in Central Florida.
