Overtown Youth Center, OYC Miami, has celebrated the opening of their new facility that provides services to community children, youth, and families. The celebration and ribbon cutting took place at a special gala event in April 2024 at the OYC Miami location.
The new 62,000 square-foot facility started construction in 2020 on major renovation and expansion of an existing building. The new facility triples the capacity of OYC, allowing the organization to reach an estimated 5,000 youth and families annually. Key features of this new center are an economic empowerment training area, a STEM lab, a multimedia / technology lab, family resource center, state of the art classrooms, and a health and wellness gymnasium.
Florida Community Loan Fund provided New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) tax allocation for the OYC Miami project. Central States Development Partners provided an additional $4 million in NMTC, with U.S. Bank CDC as the investor. Learn more about FCLF & Overtown Youth Center
