Catholic Charities, Diocese of St. Petersburg (CCDOSP) has offered social services, housing and shelter since 1997, serving over 16,000 clients in the year 2010 alone. Services provided include counseling, elderly outreach, youth and tutoring programs, and many others. The organization has also developed and managed housing for farmworkers, homeless, disabled, and low-income residents.

With funding from the FCLF Florida Preservation Fund, CCDOSP will renovate the Palm Island apartment complex. Palm Island, built in 1989, consists of 21 apartment homes located in New Port Richey. With a loan from the FPF Program, the apartments will be upgraded to market condition, including energy efficient appliances and HVAC, and renovated baths, floors, and painting. Long-term funding for the project is provided through Pasco County’s NSP-2 Program.
