Affordable single family homes for sale
"With Florida Community Loan Fund’s help, Housing and Education Alliance is helping deserving families achieve the dream of homeownership." – Sylvia A. Alvarez, Executive Director
Housing and Education Alliance was founded in 2002 to change neighborhoods and make a difference in the lives of families, through providing housing and offering educational workshops and classes. These classes cover topics such as homebuyer counseling, foreclosure prevention, and financial literacy; and all are offered in both English and Spanish. HEA also builds new and rehabilitates older homes and offers them for sale to families who are seeking affordable housing.
With financing from Florida Community Loan Fund, HEA will purchase and renovate single-family homes in the Tampa Bay area. There is a strong demand for affordable homes, and these renovated homes will be available to low- and moderate-income households. Through counseling and homebuyer classes, HEA can identify families who are ready to purchase a renovated home, work with them to develop a budget, and walk them through the mortgage process. HEA will undertake renovation of 4 to 6 homes at a time with the FCLF line of credit – and this number is expected to increase. This partnership has the potential for significant impact as HEA utilizes its capabilities and experience to acquire, rehab and sell homes.
