8 units of affordable housing for Veterans
The Center for Manifestation, a non-denominational church, was founded in 2001 with a focus on helping members achieve total life prosperity and total healing. The Center serves its low-income East Tampa neighborhood and the area residents, 43% of whom live in poverty, through various outreach and in-reach ministries, including transitional housing, youth group home, daycare, a K-12 private school, assisted living facility, food bank, clothing store, and more. The organization is located between two housing projects in East Tampa, and all services are available to – and often used by – area families.
With financing from Florida Community Loan Fund, The Center will create Manifestations Village for Veterans, a homeless / veterans housing development adjacent to its current church campus. The project will include 8 apartments in East Tampa that will offer services to residents such as financial literacy and home ownership training, mental health assistance through partner agencies, physical fitness and well-being training. All rental units will be eligible for Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Vouchers, and affordable rents will include utilities. Each apartment is a free-standing home of just over 200 square feet. Additional services offered by The Center for Manifestation will also be available to residents, such as the food bank, free barber service, clothing donation, and personal development courses.
Additional partners on the project are CDC of Tampa, Beck Group, and the Tampa Housing Authority.
