FCLF finances supportive housing in FloridaSOUTH REGION
$1.1 MILLION FCLF FINANCING (4 loans)
Acquisition and Rehab lending
4 facilities including 60 beds for supportive housing

"We are grateful for Florida Community Loan Fund. In 2003 we were in desperate need of the site that would provide transitional housing for 20 indigent men needing treatment. Ignacio, Nelson, and the FCLF staff took the time to visit and review our plans for the agency. FCLF believed in our mission and financed the project. Today we operate at full capacity with a 65% success rate." – Stephen Alvarez, Executive Director, New Hope C.O.R.P.S., Inc.

New Hope is a nonprofit residential and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment facility that provides extended services to anyone who is working to recover from chemical dependency. The residential program (usually 6-9 months) is focused on developing personal and social skills to assist the resident in developing into a well-rounded productive individual within society. In addition to psychiatric services and mental health counseling, the organization offers job placement services, case management, care coordination, transitional housing, and assistance to move into permanent housing. Since its founding in 1993, New Hope has provided housing, counseling, life skills training, job training and placement to over 5,000 clients through its in-house and outpatient services.

With financing from Florida Community Loan Fund through various loans since 2003, New Hope has purchased and renovated buildings that offer a total of 60 beds, reaching an estimated 120 individuals a year with housing and services. The FCLF financing includes 4 properties that form the New Hope campus, all on adjacent land in the Homestead, Florida area.
