6 single family homes for sale
"The support from Florida Community Loan Fund went beyond financing the construction of these new houses, it changed the lives of the six families who purchased these homes. Owning a home is more than just the American dream – it’s the critical ingredient to economic empowerment, to building generational wealth, and to moving forward as families and communities. None of that would have been possible without the faith FCLF placed in this project." – Mandy Bartle, Executive Director
The South Florida Community Land Trust (SFCLT) was organized in 2006 with a mission to provide and preserve quality, sustainable, affordable housing for underserved populations in South Florida. Since that time the organization has developed homes – for rent and for sale – to help ease the affordable housing crisis that exists throughout Florida.
With financing from Florida Community Loan Fund, SFCLT finalized construction of 6 new affordable homes for sale in Deerfield Beach using the Community Land Trust model designed to preserve affordable housing in perpetuity, one generation after the next. In an area with median income at 59% of the area median income (AMI), buyers for these homes may be eligible for down payment assistance, bringing the cost of each home down to around $150,000 for a home valued at $300,000. The homes are built using environmentally responsible building practices, which will help reduce ongoing utility and maintenance expenses to the homeowners. SFCLT also offers homebuyer education, pre- and post-purchase support, and other resources to prepare families for homeownership.
