Immokalee Housing and Family Services (IHFS) provides decent, safe and affordable rental housing with supportive social and educational services for farm workers and other low-income families in Immokalee, Florida. With financing from FCLF, IHFS developed Timber Ridge, a neighborhood of 34 single family homes in 1995. Timber Ridge is also the site of the award-winning Carl J. Kuehner Community Center, where IHFS provides a variety of programs for children, teens and adults in the surrounding community. These programs include Preschool, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, After School Enrichment, holiday and summer camps, teen programming, adult literacy, a computer lab, computer classes, parenting classes, and more. There are also monthly Residents' Council meetings with guest speakers who address various topics of interest to the resident families.

"Immokalee is a family-oriented community and IHFS is a family-friendly agency. By supporting the growth of the Timber Ridge neighborhood, FCLF has helped us to provide the kind of programs our families need. While we have reaped the results in countless ways, one of the most tangible is with our staff. We have several employees that started out as clients, either living in our housing or attending our programs, or both. It is immensely gratifying to see our children grow to be our staff and then to provide services to their children as they come along.
